- Evan Trupp was traded from Cincinnati to Bakersfield yesterday. With the move to the ECHL's Western Conference, Trupp will be facing off against Jake Marto, Michael Forney, and Aaron Schneekloth of the Colorado Eagles on a pretty regular basis as there are only eight teams in the West. In 20 games with Cincinnati Trupp had 12 points (2G, 10A).
- Jonathan Toews is among a trio of Chicago Blackhawks selected to play in the NHL's All-Star Game. In his five NHL seasons Toews has now been named to the All-Star game three times, and there is no doubt that number would be four had he not been busy winning a gold medal along with Best Forward honors at the 2010 Winter Olympics. All-Star Weekend is scheduled for January 26-29 in Ottawa.
- Detroit Red Wing defenseman Mike Commodore has been unable to play the past two games due to an injury suffered last weekend. He took a shot off his ankle last Sunday and has been unable to go since.
- Zach Parise was recently featured as part of the Tampa Bay Lightning's Frozen Four promotion. Tampa Bay will be hosting the event this April.
- Brad Miller's Gwinnett Gladiators were part of a recent feature that gives us a brief glimpse into the life of an ECHL hockey player. The RV looks nice, but is there really room for 25?
