- College Hockey News released several UND and WCHA related features this week. CHN put together a very nice North Dakota team feature, a list of what and who to watch in the WCHA, as well as team capsules for each of the league's twelve teams.
- USCHO says UND's freshman class will play a big role in determining the team's success this season.
- CBS Sports released its Week 1 college hockey power rankings, and North Dakota comes in at number three.
- College Hockey Weekly released its preseason All-America Teams, with Danny Kristo making the second team and Andrew MacWilliam receiving an honorable mention.
- Taylor Chorney was named an alternate captain for the AHL's Peoria Rivermen, an affiliate of the St. Louis Blues.
- Locked out Buffalo Sabres Drew Stafford and Patrick Kaleta provided a nice surprise to a youth hockey team this week.
- The Rochester Americans (AHL) re-assigned Corey Fienhage to Gwinnett (ECHL), while Binghamton (AHL) re-assigned Ben Blood to Elmira (ECHL).
- Per a Reading Royals (ECHL) press release, former Sioux defenseman Derrick LaPoint intends to leave professional hockey.
- For North Dakota recruit Luke Johnson, hockey and family form a nice blend.
- UND recruit Wade Murphy and the Penticton Vees (BCHL) travel to Victoria this weekend, where Murphy will be facing his former team.
